Introducing Miami Beach Edition

December 31, 2014

Ian Schrager, a very well known hotelier, is behind the exciting renovation of the Miami mid-century Seville hotel by Melvin Grossman. Schrager is very familiar with Miami as he is also responsible for the renovation of the Delano, which is located south of the newly renovated Seville hotel, which is now Miami Beach Edition. This Miami Beach Edition project, created through a partnership between Schrager and Marriott, is one of the most anticipated Pre-Construction Condos in Miami.

The lobby of this beautiful hotel will welcome you with a wide white space and marble floors, tall ceilings, and gold-tiled columns. The design team of this renovation is Yabu Pushelberg, which was responsible for hotel interiors and  was able to fill the lobby space with palm trees that perfectly compliment the lobby’s breath taking ocean view. This lobby space is made to look like classic Miami Beach, with a very dreamy feel.

Even though, the hotel has been renovated, some of the Seville’s original details are still a part of the hotel. One feature that still remains is the Metador Room, which is the original oval dining room, which now serves as the hotel’s restaurant with the hotel’s original chandelier and a sunken middle section. The restaurant has walls with wood paneling and celeb chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten is to be in charge of this space as well as the hotel’s other dinning options that include the Metador Bar and the Metador Terrace. Also, the hotel’s pool has been restored and a second pool has also been added. Plus, one of the latest additions of the hotel is an outdoor movie theater, as well as more  exciting additions to come.

During Art Basel, the Basement, the hotel’s lower level entertainment zone, opened with a bowling alley, nightclub, and ice skating rink with a small Zamboni ice resurfacing machine. The ice skating rink seems very fitting as the Fountainebleau Miami Beach and the Deauville Hotel had ice-skating rinks in the 50’s and 60’s and the Deauville still has one. The Basement club is designed for serious dancing, while the skating rink and bowling alley are for social purposes.

The Miami Beach Edition is sure to be a great addition to our incredible city. For more information on Miami Beach Homes for Sale and Miami Beach Luxury Real Estate, contact Matt Crane at 305.203.0000.
